Shipping Policy

Please note that our shipping policies are subject to change at any time, at our sole discretion. We reserve the right to modify, update, or change the terms of our shipping policy without prior notice.

All orders are shipped from Valley Center, California. When we print your shipping label, you'll get an email with a tracking number so you'll know when to expect it. We encourage you to go to the tracking page and sign up for text alerts. It is your responsibility to be proactive in tracking when your order is delivered, so that it can be brought inside right away. We will not be held liable if your order gets damaged because it sat for too long out in the elements.

Free Shipping!!!

We offer free shipping to all 50 states for these products that total over $99. (US territories do not qualify for free shipping.) We will determine the most efficient shipping method for your order.

If your order qualifies for free shipping, you will see "Free Shipping over $99" as an option on the checkout page. You must select this method in order to use it. There are other shipping options available that may offer faster shipping, but you will be responsible for the cost of those.

If you are a Biotic Pro Member, and your 10% membership discount causes your order total to go below $99... If you want free shipping, you'll need to add more items to your order. Or it might be more beneficial to log out of your membership account and place your order as a guest.

Order Processing Time

Live Cultures: If your order contains my Kefir Grains, Kombucha Starter, or Sourdough Culture, we will only those orders on Mondays (or Tuesdays, if that Monday is a holiday). This is to help ensure that your live culture won't sit at the post office over the weekend. If you place your order on Monday afternoon and our shipping department has already finished for the day, your order won't ship until the following Monday. Our cut-off time for Monday shipping is 12:00 Noon Pacific Time.

All other orders: For orders that don't contain live cultures, we will usually ship your order within 1-2 business days, Monday-Thursday. We do not ship on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.

Excess Temperatures: We may choose to delay shipping your order if we determine that it's too hot in our area to ship. This is at our discression and is for the safety of your starter cultures.

Backordered Items: If your order contains an item that is on backorder, your order will be held until the backordered item is back in stock. We will not split your order and make two separate shipments.

Express Shipping

You have the option to select UPS Next Day Air and UPS 2nd Day Air on the checkout page. Please note that these are paid upgrades, so even if your order qualifies for Free Shipping, you will need to pay for these options if you want faster shipping.

Also, note that if you select either of these express shipping methods, this doesn't necessarily mean that your order will ship that same day. For order processing times, please see above.

UPS offers a money-back guarantee for Next Day Air, but not 2nd Day Air.

Personal Pickups

Because of our extremely busy schedule, we do not offer the option for you to pick up your order directly from us. We simply aren't set up for that. We hope you understand.

Items Damaged in Shipping

If you received an item that has been damaged during shipping, please contact us right away. We will file a claim on your behalf. We will need you to send us pictures of the damaged item, as well as pictures of each side of the box that the item was shipped in. Please do not throw away the damaged item unless instructed to do so by us. If you do, we might not be able to help you get the item replaced.
