Natural Remedies That Work: Kefir Whey, Cultured Veggies, Baobab, and Ginger

Our bodies are designed with an incredible ability to heal and restore balance — especially when we give them the right tools. Over the years, I’ve discovered that fermented foods, along with a few natural remedies, can be powerful allies in this process. From using kefir whey to ease pink eye, to calming an upset stomach with cultured veggie juice, to supporting lung health with baobab kefir, these simple, time-tested remedies have become staples in my home. And let's not forget the remarkable anti-inflammatory power of ginger — something I always have on hand, whether as a delicious probiotic drink or in capsule form for quick relief.

These natural solutions have helped me and my family time and time again, often with results that feel almost miraculous. Just yesterday, I sat in the car with a friend who shared how kefir had transformed her health. After decades of getting bronchitis every winter, she no longer struggles with it — and she’s stopped catching the endless colds and flu she once battled. Her immune system has been strengthened, and she feels better than she has in years.

I’ve heard stories like hers countless times from thousands of people, and it still moves me deeply. It’s incredible how many people don’t realize that their bodies are designed to heal. You are a miraculous creation, and it’s something we should never take for granted. Work with your body and the trillions of microbes that support it — and watch the magic unfold! Kefir Whey for Pinkeye

Pink eye can be caused by bacteria, viruses, or allergies. It can cause uncomfortable symptoms like redness, itching, tearing, swelling, and thick mucus that can even seal your eyelids shut while you sleep. I recently experienced this firsthand. My eye was constantly producing goopy mucus for two days and wasn't improving. Then I remembered something I had tried over a decade ago — a couple of drops of kefir whey in the corner of my eye. I decided to give it another shot, and within just 10 minutes, I was amazed as the redness and mucus began to clear. It worked quickly, and I was grateful for this simple, natural remedy I had forgotten about that works like a charm. I have done this many times with my kids when they were little, and so many people have told me how it helped them and how fast it can work. Click the button and learn how to make kefir whey

Cultured Veggies

Cultured Veggie Juice for Upset Stomach

Cultured vegetables and their juice are incredibly effective for stomach issues, thanks to the powerful probiotic Lactobacillus plantarum. This beneficial bacteria, abundant in cultured veggies, can eliminate harmful pathogens like Bacillus cereus, E. coli, and Salmonella within 48 hours, as shown in studies on traditional fermented foods like ben saalga and kimchi.[1]

Another study was done on the L plantarum that is found in Kimchi. The antibacterial activities against food-poisoning causing bacteria were examined with a culture using L. Plantarum. The antibacterial effects were clearly observed against all the bacteria tested in this work.[2,3]

I’ve personally experienced its remarkable effects. Just a spoonful of the juice works. On multiple occasions, I’ve used cultured veggie juice to stop food poisoning and stomach viruses. When my kids had the stomach flu, small sips of the juice quickly eased their symptoms. I’ve seen it work within hours — a natural, fast-acting remedy straight from your kitchen.

Babaob Kefir and Your Lungs

If you're trying to recover from a cold or flu and are having trouble with lots of mucus in your lungs. I highly recommend mixing a couple of teaspoons of baobab powder (a super prebiotic) in a 1/2 cup of kefir a couple of times a day and especially right before bed. The strains of Lactobacillus in kefir can help support lung health and assist in clearing mucus. Lactobacillus species have been shown to modulate the immune response, reduce inflammation, and support the mucosal lining of the respiratory tract. Kefir also contains tryptophan, an essential amino acid known for its calming effects and role in serotonin and melatonin production, which support mood regulation and sleep.

Baobab powder is one of the best natural sources of vitamin C, which supports immune function, reduces inflammation, and helps protect the lungs from oxidative stress. This can be especially helpful during respiratory infections. The antioxidants and polyphenols in baobab can help reduce inflammation in the airways, potentially easing symptoms associated with asthma, bronchitis, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Baobab's fiber content supports gut health, which is closely connected to respiratory function through the gut-lung axis. A balanced gut microbiome can help regulate mucus production and improve respiratory function. I have Baobab every day, and I can't believe how much it helps me.

Ginger

Ginger is a powerful natural remedy! I use it in place of ibuprofen and I’ve found it incredibly effective for reducing inflammation, thanks to its antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, and antihistamine properties. My favorite way to enjoy ginger is in ginger kombucha or ginger kefir soda — it’s delicious, refreshing, and packed with health benefits.

Ginger Capsules for Inflammation
While many turn to ibuprofen for inflammation, I recommend trying ginger. Whenever I experience pain, I take ginger, and it works wonders. I always keep ginger root capsules on hand, and when fresh ginger or kombucha isn’t available, three capsules do the trick for me. Give it a try — you might be surprised at how well it works!
